What is the difference between the male and female areas of the mouth?
The scope of the lip feminization procedure includes the area from the lower edge of the nose to the lower lip, the surrounding skin with both lips, and part of the inside of the mouth.
Longer, thinner lips, and a longer distance between the nose and upper lip are typically masculine. Fuller lips, with more red volume and a shorter distance between the nasal bridge and upper lip are considered more feminine. Slightly “uplifted” lips, with subtle visibility of the upper teeth are identified with a youthful feminine appearance.
The shape, volume, arrangement and facial expressions of the mouth are of great importance in communication, both when speaking and when conveying information nonverbally. The smile and the facial muscle movements around the mouth, visible only to the trained eye, influence the communication of emotions, shape the gender of the face, and uniquely define the expression. Modifications to this area of the face are aimed at making the mouth area consistent with the surrounding facial elements, which is essential for creating a natural feminine appearance.
Lip feminization – before the procedure

How does the lip lift procedure work?
An upper lip lift consists of lifting the lip and reducing the distance between the root of the nose and the mouth. To do this, a small incision of the skin is made just below the nasal area (by the so-called bullhorn technique) and then a small strip of skin is cut along with the subcutaneous tissue. This must be done with great precision so as not to damage the circular muscle of the mouth. The skin fragments are then connected using self-absorbable micro sutures and the incision is hidden in the fold of skin under the nose. This greatly reduces the risk of a visible scar. There is also no need to remove stitches.
After healing, a more feminine lip appearance is achieved. The upper lip is directed upward, so the redness of the lips is exposed to a greater degree and the lips visually have more volume. The raised curve of the lips makes them appear fuller. In some people, the upper teeth are slightly exposed, which adds to a more girlish appearance.
When will the effects of lip feminization be visible?
The effects can be seen shortly after the procedure and the removal of the dressings, although you will have to wait for the full final result until all the tissues of the lip area are completely healed and in their new position. Initially, the lip that is swollen after the procedure may appear to droop, but this is a natural stage. Internal sutures help keep it in position, and over time, the lip will lift slightly as it heals. Within a few weeks after the procedure, the patient will be able to return to normal functioning.
The final effect of the lip feminization procedure will be visible approximately one year after the procedure.
